Riverfont Golf Club - Suffolk, Virginia - Virginia GolfVirginia offers some of the best public golf courses in the world. With breathtaking views, magnificent landscapes and mild year round weather, it’s the perfect venue for a round of golf and USA green fees are very reasonable. Many public golf courses in Virginia are comparable to upscale private golf clubs around the country.

Riverfront Golf Club

The Riverfront Golf Club (pictured) is located in Suffolk, Virginia and is America’s Best Public-Access Courses for Virginia in 2005 and 2006, according to the Golfweek Magazine.

It is one of the nicest public courses around, with the greens beautifully maintained. It features 6,357 yards of golf from the longest tee to the par of 71. Virginia Beach National Golf Club

This public golf course designed by Pete Dye is challenging, yet playable to any golfer of any level skill. This 18-hole course is 7,432 yards of very nice and well-maintained greens and rolling fairways with tournament-course caliber. The clubhouse and staff are excellent.

Golden Horseshoe Golf Club

Golden Horseshoe Golf Club has attained much recognition over the past years by different golf magazines. It was named as 51st in Top Golf Resorts in the World by the Conde` Nast Travelers 11th annual golf resorts survey in 2006.

Robert Trent Jones Sr. designed this traditional course, and he called it his “finest design.” It was built on the site of a former plantation and is blessed with scenic views from almost any angle. It is one of the most beautiful golf courses around. The green fee is $155. It is opened daily from 7am – 6pm.It is located at 401 South England St., Williamsburg, Va. General’s Ridge Golf Course

This beautifully wooded golf course is lined with beech, oak and poplar trees with breathtaking views and scenery. It features a full-service clubhouse, a restaurant, beverage service, a fully stocked pro shop, locker room and rental clubs. It is located at 9701 Manassas Dr., Manassas Park, Va. Cannon Ridge Golf Club

The Cannon Bridge Golf Club is a golf course built to perfection. This historic site is both a magnificent golf course and a tourists’ attraction. It was nearby that the Battle of Fredericksburg during the American Civil War was fought.

Giant pines, oaks and maples frame the fairways and greens. Golf Digest Magazine nationally recognized it as one of the best golf courses in the country. It features a state-of-the-art practice facility, clubhouse, pro shop and other amenities. The service is excellent. The green fees are $59 on weekdays before 1pm, $69 on weekends and holidays before 1pm, Active Duty Military and Senior Citizen (59+) $59, weekdays and non-holidays $49, Juniors (16 and under) M-S, after 2pm $39.
